Aquatic & Terrestrial Modelling
For many years now, the Environmental Systems department has been carrying out research projects and studies in the context of the aquatic and terrestrial modelling of the behaviour of harmful substances in the environment.
In addition to applying established models such as FOCUS scenarios, project-specific simulation models are programmed and implemented in suitable software environments.
In the process, the department is able to draw on server-based data processing and storage systems, as well as extensive state-of-the-art software.
One of the main focal areas lies in combining spatial data with situation- and time-related models, such as the spatio-temporally referenced simulation of the environmental behaviour of plant protection products in aquatic systems and coupling life-cycle models to real landscape classifications.
